Today Google is celebrating the 161st birthday of Antoni Gauds, a Spanish architect born in Reus, in the Catalonia.
Antoni Gaudí, the Spaniard nicknamed “God’s Architect”, is honored Tuesday by Google, at 161 years of birth, pintre a logo that illustrates the work of Gaudi. Antoni Gaudí, the full name Antoni Placid Gaudí i Cornet was born on June 25, 1852 at Riudoms, in the province of Tarragona (Catalonia).

Gaudi is the most prominent representative of Art Nouveau architecture, a style easily recognizable because of its curved lines, corrugated iron and glass pieces large irregularly shaped and heavily stylized and meticulous nature, says Wikipedia.
From an academic viewpoint, Antoni Gaudí was a brilliant student, but rather an excellent draftsman and many of his works already shown academic brilliant creativity. GAUDI could find the most suitable solutions to problems found in books and proved arhitecutra same skill early in his career (forced to work to support themselves, but also to learn the job), working as an apprentice to various architects. The last years of his career devoted almost exclusively built a cathedral dedicated to the Holy Family, Sagrada Familia, begun in 1882. Considered his fundamental work, Sagrada Familia is a synthesis of his architectural evolution.
“This cathedral, once completed, will be my gratitude to the Holy Family who helped me accomplish everything I wanted,” said the artist. For 43 years, the original Gothic structure Gaudi added, rich in ornaments, improvised bizarre towers like chimneys. Currently it is estimated that construction will be completed in 2026.
On June 7, 1926, while walking down one of the main avenues of Barcelona, Gaudi was hit by a tram. Because it was recognized passers assumed to be a beggar, Gaudi did not receive timely care. He died three days later, on June 10, 1926 at the age of 73 years.
