Saturnino Herrán Guinchard (Aguascalientes 1887 – Mexico city , October 1918) was a mexican painter. He began his studies in drawing and painting with José Inés Tovilla and Severo Amador; He later studied with the masters Julio Ruelas, the catalan Antonio Fabrés, Leandro Izaguirre and Germán Gedovius.
Considered to be one of the renovators of nationalistic art in Mexico, Saturnino Herrán was born in Aguascalientes on 9th of July, 1887. He was son of the writer and playwright don José Herrán and Bolado and Doña Josefa Guinchard. His premature death at the age of 31 years deprived Mexican painting of a real talent.
